One WhatsApp enquiry from Instagram and Facebook ads cost a Dubai pilates studio about AED 16 in the 90 days to 23 September 2026. That is the median across nine campaigns and 501 conversations in a studio account we run. The best single ad in that account's history did it for AED 4.90: one woman on a reformer, filmed in a real class, with no text on the screen.

Data pulled 24 September 2026 from the Meta Marketing API and the Meta Ad Library. Updated as new campaigns finish.

Pilates is one of the most crowded categories on Instagram in Dubai. On one day in September we counted 384 live pilates and fitness ads from 81 advertisers, all chasing roughly the same women in the same few neighbourhoods. So I wanted to answer the questions studio owners actually ask us. What does a real enquiry cost? Which ads win? Why do the "cheap leads" so often turn out to be nobody? Here is what our numbers say.

Key findings

  • A pilates studio paid a median of AED 16 per WhatsApp chat. Spend-weighted, it was AED 14.
  • The cheapest ad ever: AED 4.90 per chat, a plain video of one woman on a reformer. The same video with benefit copy and no price brought 76 chats at AED 5.20 each.
  • Women aged 45 to 54 were the cheapest audience, at AED 11.85 a chat with a 3.2% click rate. Women 25 to 34 took half the budget at AED 15.41.
  • Facebook beat Instagram on cost: AED 11.57 a chat against AED 15.42. Instagram feed was the priciest placement at AED 17.74.
  • Video beat images by more than two to one: AED 13.65 a chat against AED 33.56.
  • Form leads looked cheap and weren't. AED 7 promo form leads were mostly junk. 53% of WhatsApp chats went five or more messages deep.
  • Adding interest layers made things worse: AED 9.80 a chat without them, AED 15.90 to AED 17.10 with them.
  • September is peak season and peak price. Searches run 36% above average, and Meta's price per 1,000 views tripled from July.
  • Across 384 rival ads, the standard first-class price is AED 100, and fewer than 3% of ads lead with a percentage discount.

What does a WhatsApp enquiry cost a Dubai pilates studio?

About AED 16 at the median, and anywhere from AED 7 to AED 28 for most campaigns. These are the campaigns that spent more than AED 150 in the 90 days to 23 September 2026. A ninth campaign brought only two chats, so it is left out of the table.

What the campaign offered Cost per WhatsApp chat (AED)
50% off an intro class 7 - 10
Buy one get one class for AED 99 11
September offer test 12
City-wide studio campaign 16
General "join us" studio ads 16 - 22
Unlimited classes package 28

The median campaign cost AED 15.86 per chat. Weighted by spend, the account paid AED 13.97, because the cheaper campaigns also ran bigger.

A "chat" here is Meta's count of people who tapped the ad and opened a WhatsApp conversation with the studio. It is the closest thing Meta can measure to someone saying "hi, how much is a class?"

Which pilates ads brought the cheapest chats?

This is the account's full history, January to September 2026, ranked ad by ad. Every row had at least AED 50 behind it.

The ad Cost per chat (AED) Chats
One woman on a reformer, real class, first trial price in the text 4.90 24
Same video, benefit copy, no price anywhere 5.20 76
Video, "50% off your intro pilates class" 6.60 86
Video, "50% off reformer trial class" 7.40 55
Video, buy one get one for AED 99 8.90 74
Video, "3 classes for AED 299" 9.10 96
Video, pilates for men, first trial AED 50 11.50 23
Video, Ramadan offer with "limited slots" 12.70 22
39-second studio walk, "Not a gym. A studio." 15.10 181

I keep coming back to the top two rows. The cheapest ad in the account had no discount at all. It showed a real person doing the real thing, in the real room, and let the viewer imagine being there. When we ran the exact same footage with copy about what pilates does for your back and posture, and left the price out entirely, it brought the most chats at almost the lowest cost.

The discount ads did fine, and they sat in the middle of the table. The polished studio tour brought the biggest volume and cost three times more per chat. And a coach introduction video, the kind every studio wants to make, brought three chats for AED 335. Small sample, but it was the weakest video in the account.

Pilates for men is worth a note. It is rare in Dubai ads, and a men's first-trial offer brought chats at AED 11.50, cheaper than the studio's average.

Should a pilates studio use lead forms or WhatsApp?

WhatsApp. This is the most expensive lesson in the whole account, so it is worth the detail.

Over nine months the studio ran both. Here is what came out:

Channel Cost What happened next
Instant form leads AED 16 per lead on average, from AED 7 Owner described most as junk
WhatsApp chats AED 12.60 per chat on average 53% went 5+ messages deep

When we took the account apart, the junk had clear causes:

  • 42% of all form leads came from a single "buy one get one for AED 99" ad. A studio selling AED 800 to AED 1,200 monthly memberships had filled its pipeline with people shopping for the cheapest class in town.
  • Every form was Meta's one-tap type, where the name and phone number fill in automatically. Nobody had to type a single word to become a "lead".
  • 69% of form leads came from Reels and Stories, where thumbs move fast.
  • 29% of form leads arrived between 10pm and 3am. By the time anyone called back in the morning, the person had forgotten tapping anything.

The WhatsApp chats looked nothing like that. More than half went five or more messages deep from the customer's side, which is someone asking about times, parking and whether beginners are welcome. That is a person who might walk in.

If you want to keep a form, switch to Meta's "higher intent" form with a review screen, ask one question people have to type ("which days suit you?"), and call within five minutes.

Which audience is cheapest for pilates ads in Dubai?

Women over 35, and especially women aged 45 to 54.

Age Share of spend Chats Cost per chat (AED) Click rate
18 - 24 7% 36 13.49 1.2%
25 - 34 51% 233 15.41 1.5%
35 - 44 28% 147 13.31 2.5%
45 - 54 12% 69 11.85 3.2%
55 - 64 2% 10 16.26 3.5%

Half the budget went to women aged 25 to 34, because that is where Meta finds the most people. They clicked the least and cost the most per chat. Women aged 45 to 54 clicked twice as often and cost almost a quarter less. If your studio suits that age group, and most reformer studios do, tell Meta by showing them in the ad.

Men took 6% of spend and cost about AED 11 a chat against AED 14 for women. Only 37 chats, so treat it as a hint.

Instagram or Facebook for a pilates studio?

Instagram gets all the attention. Facebook quietly brought cheaper chats.

Placement Chats Cost per chat (AED) Cost per 1,000 views (AED)
Facebook feed 93 11.46 16.60
Facebook Reels 80 11.88 18.72
Instagram Reels 109 13.23 27.50
Instagram Stories 105 15.40 49.84
Instagram feed 102 17.74 47.78

Instagram costs about twice as much to show an ad in Dubai, AED 39.57 per 1,000 views against AED 17.70 on Facebook. The click rates are close, so the difference mostly comes down to price. Plenty of Dubai women in their late 30s and 40s still scroll Facebook, and nobody is fighting over them there.

We would still keep Instagram Reels in the mix. It brought the most chats of any single placement at a fair price.

Video or images for pilates ads?

Video, by a wide margin. Video carried 96% of the spend and brought chats at AED 13.65. Static images cost AED 33.56 per chat, on a small sample of eight chats, so read the gap as direction more than precision.

The winning videos had things in common: filmed on a phone inside the studio, vertical, a real class in progress, one clear line of text at most. The weaker ones had big text banners, stock music and a polished "brand film" feel.

Do interest layers help pilates targeting in Dubai?

No, and this surprised us. The usual advice is to target people interested in pilates, yoga, wellness or luxury brands. We tested it.

Ad set setup Cost per chat (AED) Real conversations per chat
Women, no interest layer 9.80 1.11
Same, plus pilates or luxury interests 15.90 - 17.10 0.37 - 0.50

"Real conversations per chat" counts chats that went five or more messages deep. Without interest layers, chats were cheaper and more than twice as likely to turn into a proper conversation. Dubai is small. Most women who would try pilates are already inside a plain age-and-area audience, and the interest layer mostly adds cost.

One more targeting lesson: very tight location pins shrink your audience more than you think. Meta can only place about one in ten Dubai women at a precise location, so a cluster of 2 km circles around a studio can leave you with a few thousand women and prices above AED 100 per 1,000 views. In this account, the cheapest ad sets always covered a wider area, and the tightest pin clusters were the most expensive.

What does the Dubai pilates ad market look like?

On 11 September 2026 we pulled every active pilates ad in the UAE from Meta's public Ad Library: 384 ads from 81 advertisers.

What we counted Share of the 384 ads
Video 58%
Image 23%
Dynamic (Meta mixes the creative) 14%
Carousel 4%
Button: "Send WhatsApp message" or "Send message" 39%
Mention a price in AED 37%
Use urgency words (limited, hurry, spots left) 21%
Speak to women directly 26%
Speak to men 1%
Mention recovery (sauna, cold plunge, steam, red light) 4%
Use a percentage discount 2%
Written partly in Arabic 1%

A few things jump out.

The going rate for a first class is AED 100. Of the ads that named an intro price, the most common was AED 100, most sat between AED 90 and AED 100, and the cheapest was AED 55. Intro packs of three classes ran about AED 150 to AED 300.

Almost nobody leads with a percentage discount. Only 2% of ads used "% off", and free classes or buy-one-get-one offers barely appear at all. The big spenders write softly, about how you'll feel. Our own data explains why: discount ads bring chats, and they also bring bargain hunters.

Ads don't live long. Half of all the ads had been running for 17 days or less. Only 15% had lasted 90 days or more, and those long runners are the ones worth studying, because nobody keeps paying for an ad that doesn't work.

Two gaps are wide open. Only 1% of ads speak to men, and only 4% mention recovery like sauna or cold plunge. If your studio has either, you'd have that corner of the feed almost to yourself.

The market is concentrated. The two biggest advertisers ran a quarter of all ads between them. 28 studios ran a single ad each.

When should a pilates studio or gym advertise?

This index compares monthly Google searches for pilates in the UAE with the yearly average of 100, August 2025 to July 2026.

September is the big month. People come back from summer, the heat starts to ease, and routines restart. January is the second peak. March, which included Ramadan in 2026, and the summer months are the quiet ones.

The Meta side moved the same way. In our account, the price per 1,000 views went from AED 21 in July to AED 31 in August and AED 76 in September, as every studio in Dubai switched their ads back on. Cost per chat went from AED 11.78 in August to AED 18.64 in September. Click rates held steady, so the ads didn't get worse; the auction just got busier.

What we'd do: build the September campaign in August, while prices are low, so it has left Meta's learning phase before the rush. Then keep it running through October.

What do Google searches cost pilates studios and gyms?

Meta is where most studios in Dubai advertise, and Google is where people go when they've already decided. Here's what those clicks cost, from UAE Keyword Planner data.

Keyword Monthly searches (UAE) Bid range (AED)
gym dubai 5,400 2.99 - 10.76
pilates dubai 2,400 3.10 - 10.84
personal trainer dubai 1,900 12.02 - 36.94
reformer pilates dubai 720 3.34 - 10.72
ladies gym dubai 590 2.05 - 7.96
pilates studio dubai 480 3.45 - 12.28
pilates class dubai 260 3.78 - 13.37
hot pilates dubai 210 3.76 - 12.74

Pilates and gym clicks are cheap next to most Dubai categories, at AED 3 to AED 11. Personal training is the exception at up to AED 37 a click, because one client can be worth thousands a month. More Google data for gyms, by intent and by month, is on our fitness marketing page.

What budget does a pilates studio need?

Here's the sum with our numbers, so you can swap in your own.

Step Assumption Result
Ad spend AED 3,000 a month AED 3,000
Cost per WhatsApp chat AED 16 about 185 chats
Chats that book a trial 1 in 5 about 37 trials
Trials that become members 1 in 3 about 12 members

That works out to about AED 250 in ad spend per new member. A member paying AED 800 a month and staying four months is worth AED 3,200. The two numbers that move this most are the ones you control: how fast someone replies on WhatsApp, and how the first class feels.

Our checklist for a Dubai pilates or gym campaign

  1. Film real classes on a phone. One person on a reformer beats a studio tour.
  2. Send every ad to WhatsApp. Skip one-tap forms.
  3. State a real first-class price, around the market's AED 100, or sell the benefit and leave the price for the chat.
  4. Target women 30 to 55 across the wider area around the studio. Skip tiny pin circles and interest layers.
  5. Keep Facebook feed and Reels on. They were the cheapest placements in our data.
  6. Have a named person reply within five minutes, including evenings.
  7. Build the September and January campaigns a month early.
  8. Say it if you have recovery or men's classes. Almost nobody else does.
