AI SEO, also called GEO or generative engine optimisation, is the work of getting your business named and linked when someone asks ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot a question you can answer. Google rankings still matter, because ChatGPT searches the web before it answers. What ChatGPT reads and trusts differs from what Google rewards, though.

What does ChatGPT search before it answers?

One question turns into several hidden web searches. ChatGPT adds words the person never typed. In our Dubai tests the most common were lead, partner, WhatsApp, pricing, official, monthly and 2026. A page that states its prices, terms and year plainly matches more of those searches.

Does Reddit matter for ChatGPT?

In our tests 32% of the pages ChatGPT opened were Reddit threads, and it cited none of them. Reddit shapes the answer without showing as a source. The only safe way in is real answers from the owner's own account. We never use fake accounts or paid posts.

Does llms.txt or schema get you into ChatGPT?

They help ChatGPT read your site, but neither one makes it name you. What moved our results was plain facts on the page, real numbers with dates, a price list as a PDF, and proof ChatGPT can check elsewhere, such as reviews and listings.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Generative engine optimisation is the work of getting your business named and linked in answers from ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot. It builds on SEO, because these assistants search the web first, then choose sources they can read and check.

It shares the basics: a fast site, clear pages and trust. It differs in what wins. ChatGPT favours plain facts it can quote, such as prices, terms and real results with dates, and checks them against other sites.

Page fixes can be read by ChatGPT within days. Being named more often usually takes weeks to months, and depends on reviews and listings as much as the site. We report the numbers every month so you can judge.
